15 Uses for Hyperlink Tool May be used “jump” to virtually any website (within school’s or outside) Can be helpful with lesson assignments/projects Use your teacher page to present helpful resources for visitors/students.

16 Features of the Teacher Calendar Calendar may be used for “thumbnail view” of activities in classroom. Associate forms with calendars to provide quick access to documents. Project or assignment due dates may appear on calendar. Room for as much detail as necessary Teacher calendar viewable ONLY on teacher pages (doesn’t promote to home page)

17 Click the Calendar link to add events in the classroom. Click Add Event to choose the date for the event. The Teacher Calendar

18 Choose date/year Type Title of event Give complete details…. Save to your calendar. Field Trip Our field trip to the Alabama Theatre is today. We will leave the school promptly at 9:30 a.m. and will return by 2:00 p.m. Please make certain that your student is dressed in his/her school t-shirt and brings souvenir money. Sack lunches and drinks will be provided.

20 Features of Forms (Documents) Post virtually anything you would distribute on paper (syllabus, study sheets, permission slips..) May upload documents or copy content and paste into window provided (or both!) Acceptable formats: PDF,.doc,.txt,.rtf Associate forms with Calendar (events) Change or delete forms as needed

21 Click the Forms link to add documents Assign a name to your form. Click to Add Form Field Trip Permission Slip Choose Upload Forms Screen

22 Click Browse… and add Form from your computer Locate Document and double-click Click Add to save to Teacher Forms C:\DemoDocsPermissionSlip

23 Form is now on website Let’s add the form to the calendar. Click the Calendar link to bring up the calendar. Click Field Trip event to add Form Forms Screen (cont’d.)

25 Click the Field Trip event on the calendar See Associated Form? Click Download Form opens and may be printed by parent!

26 Features of Assignments Assignment named as desired. May be “scheduled” to appear and disappear. May be edited, rescheduled, deleted or made “inactive” at any time. May designate that assignment is shown on calendar (due date). Use hyper-linking button to provide Internet resources and aid students/parents with assignments.

28 Choose course (or grade level) Type Assignment Title Choose date due Give details of assignment….. Add Assignment Homework for Monday Learn how to insert an image into a Microsoft Word  document. Bonus points for those who determine how to place a colored border around the image. Use this website for more information in completing this assignment. Choose date to be posted on the website

30 The program suits the needs of the teacher. Whatever areas are used will be reflected as links on the teacher page. Teachers can post virtually any information!

31 What can teachers post? “Home Page” info (bio, education, experience) Information about the classroom (schedule, supply list, summer reading, activities, calendar) Assignments and/or projects Photos (fun graphics or actual photos) Helpful website links Forms (anything distributed on paper) Presentations (Powerpoint, Flash) Audio or video (Podcasts)

33 Items posted on all calendars from sports, organizations, etc., will populate to main school calendar and home page of website Produces all new areas to populate Locations gives ability to provide directions to offsite activities from calendar. News reflects dated “articles” of interest regarding activities of organization, sport, etc. Main Page gives overview of program (or sport or club/organization) If teacher has other interests in school activities, they may be given access (Music, Key Club, Baseball..) Teachers may also have access to other areas of the site…
