7. Adding Integers Using Absolute Value SAME SIGNS: Add the absolute value of the numbers and use the common sign. Ex.10 + 14 = 24 -7 + (-5) = -12

8. Adding Integers Using Absolute Value DIFFERENT SIGNS: Find the absolute value of the numbers and then subtract the smaller from the larger. Use the sign of the number with the greater magnitude (farther from 0). Ex.13 + (-9) = 413-9 = 4 (13 has a greater magnitude, answer is positive.) -11 + 6 = -511-6 = 5 (-11 has a greater magnitude, answer is negative)

9. Adding Integers using Absolute Value OPPOSITES: The sum of an integer and its opposite is 0. -4 + 4 = 0
