1 ART-8 MS. WILSON

2 DESCRIPTION  Through visual art we are able to express our complexities and ourselves in order to make a connection with people around us.  Artistic expression has allowed us to deepen our understanding of each other, gain an appreciation for different media and forms, and to develop confidence in our choices and actions.  This course is designed to offer you skills with which to develop your expressive abilities, and to begin to appreciate visual art around you.

3 EXPECTATIONS  The time in class will be used to show that you can demonstrate specific skills and methods using a variety of media.  You will need to show a commitment to the completion of your work, and be able to reflect on your products. Art takes time, and you will be expected to see a project through from beginning to end.  Care for the classroom and materials are a key component to demonstrating your commitment to completion.  Your table/work area and equipment needs to be cleaned, and all materials put back where they came from. This is a rigid requirement for this class - please unsure you understand what is expected from you here.

4 EVALUATION You will be assessed in the following categories: Projects- These are major works that demonstrate an accumulation of developing particular skills, techniques, and material processes. Reflections- A demonstration using the vocabulary and language of art of your ability to reflect on your own work, how you could improve, and how your project expresses your ideas.
