GPA 3.0 or higher Written approval from student’s principal and superintendent. Students shall be in grade 10, 11, or 12. Students must meet requirements of the postsecondary institution for admission under that institution’s dual enrollment credit program.

8  Pre-Honor classes require rigorous assignments, and place the students on an advanced math path.  7: Pre-Honors Math7 8: Algebra I 9: Geometry  10: Algebra II/Trig 11: Pre-Cal 12: AP Cal  The Math COS has changed to become part of the College Career Readiness Standards.  The teachers are working vertically across the grade levels to make sure that the standards that shifted up or down are covered in each grade level to prepare the students for the next level. Pre-Honors Math 7 Recommendations: GRADE 7 Combined score from 3 components MATH AVERAGE 96-100=3 90-95=2 85-89=1 <84=0 CLASSWORKS BENCHMARK >1520 = 3 1500-1520=2 1480-1499=1 <1480=0 PLACEMENT TEST 27-30=3 24-26=2 21-23=1 <21=0 Recommendation Pre-Honors Math 7 6 - 9 points

9  Please refer to the Honors Placement Recommendation posted on the school website, in order to understand the criteria and guidelines.  Go the OHS tab, find “News & Events”, click on “Forms” and find the documents. Pre-Honor classes require rigorous summer assignments and students are expected to achieve on a higher level in preparation for advanced path in high school. Pre- Honors English 7 Recommendations: Pre- Honors English 7 Recommendations: GRADE 7 Three out of Four Suggested CRITERIA Meet 3/4 English & Reading 3 Quarters Average 90 or above Classworks Benchmark 1570 or above ARMT 4 STAR LEVEL 8.0 or above

10 Process of Eligibility Counselor collects the data following the guidelines. Students will be notified by letter about scores in English and Math placement. You will need to verify with Yes or No about your students’ participation in regular or pre-honors courses. In order for the change to take place on the request, the student will have to turn in the verification letter to the counselor. Students will have an advisement session about their scores should they have any questions about the guidelines. Once the course begins, students are to remain in the Pre-Honors class the entire year. An opt out is a last resort if student fails the course.

15 INOW – Schedule Requests  Students are assigned their core subjects by default and electives requests per their registration form.  Also, pre-honors’ classes are selected after students/counselor advisement take place, and returning the signed verification form.

Password: “oneonta1” You can access all your children’s account! Students: User Name: was given to you during our class session Password: “redskins19” You can only access your account!
