3 3 CA-NCATE Protocol ► ► Agreement between California and NCATE ► ► Allows an institution to seek both CTC and NCATE accreditation through one set of activities ► ► State Consultant and California Co-Chair are responsible for ensuring the visit follows the ProtocolProtocol ► ► Available from the CTC’s National Accreditation webpageNational Accreditation

5 5 Continuous Improvement ► ► Pilot in Spring 2010-Fall 2011 but will be standard visit beginning in Spring 2012 ► ► All Standards at ‘Acceptable’ and 1 or more standards are moving to ‘Target’ ► ► Off-site Review—team reads IR and reviews all electronic evidence prior to the site visit ► ► Web-Conference call with team and NCATE staff ► ► Off-Site Report goes to institution ► ► Institution writes an IR Addendum ► ► Visit focuses on the issues raised in the Off-site Review

6 Timing of Activities 1. IR is submitted by the Institution--AIMS 2. Off-Site Review takes place 3. Off-Site Report is returned to the Institution 4. IR Addendum is posted in AIMS 1. 6-12 months prior to the site visit 2. 4-10 months prior to the site visit 3. 1 month after the “Off-Site Review” 4. 1-4 months prior to the site visit 6

8 8 Timeline for Team Member Work ► Review IR and all evidence in preparation for the Off-Site Review ► Off-Site Review--through a conference call with a web –3-4 hours ► Off-Site Report completed: Usually write 1 Standard ► IR Addendum reviewed with any additional evidence ► Site Visit and complete report

9 9 Off-Site Visit—a web enhanced conference call  NCATE Co-Chair  California Co-Chair  A minimum of 1 California member  NCATE members  State Consultant  NCATE staff ► 3-4 hour conference call from your office or home. Computer and phone must be available
