1 Task Card Templates Choose one slide below each week to create a task card for a Tech Tub station. Make sure to fill in the “Notes” below the task card with your information. Follow the directions below to complete this station activity. This task uses: Common Core State Standards Insect Symmetry Objective: CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.G.A.3 CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.G.A.3 Recognize a line of symmetry for a two-dimensional figure as a line across the figure such that the figure can be folded along the line into matching parts. Identify line- symmetric figures and draw lines of symmetry. Cost = $.99, I’d already purchased for my ipads. After investigating physical art work using the line of symmetry, the learners (in pairs) will explore and create symmetry of an insect using Amaziograph App. 1.After watching the example in whole group, the learner pairs begin their explorations. 2. Go to the + sign in left corner and select the butterfly or mirrored option. 3.You may use the horizontal line of symmetry or change it to a vertical line. To make a change, tap the tool settings icon (on left) and tap the graph button at the bottom. 4.Next tap the adjust grid button (at bottom); two pins will appear. 5.Touch and hold/move one pin to rotate the line of symmetry. Tap DONE. 6.Now begin your insect design. Design requirements include the following: a.Use all parts of an insect (check diagrams), b.Use of coloring mixing, c.Use of different thickness and type of lines, d.Use of a background, and e.Use of opacity change (the transparency of a color). 7.When complete, tap the Actions button; then Share and Print and then Save Image and allow access to photos. 8.Then tap Actions button again and then Mail, mailing to yourself and me, the teacher. 9.In the subject line, type both of your names, grade and title for your creation. Extension: Create a story or poem about your creation.
