3. Progression to IE year Important Reminder To progress to IE everything must be passed at first attempt - NO RESITS for AUGUST

4. Option Choices – Reminder It is your responsibility to choose courses that are within your programme structure and that you have passed the pre-requisite for. If you have enrolled onto a course that is not on your programme structure you will be removed from it. If it’s not on your programme structure, you can’t take it!

5. Option Choices - Reminders Note the requirements for courses with pre-requisite and co- requisite courses. If a pre-requisite is required, it means that you must have taken and passed at first attempt the pre-requisite course at a minimum of 40% (or in some cases a minimum of 60%). A compensated fail mark (between 30% and 39%) does not count as passing the pre-requisite. If a course outline states that a co-requisite is required, it means that you must take both courses together. The pre-requisite and co-requisite rules cannot be changed under any circumstances.

7. Deadlines for Course Changes After the first 2 weeks of semester 1, the student system will close for changes to semester 1 and full year courses. After the first 2 weeks of semester 2, the Student System will close for changes to semester 2 courses. Please remember, you will not be permitted to drop a course which you took in the first semester in favour of a second semester course, nor will you be permitted to opt out of a full year course at the end of semester 1.

9. Balanced Choice of Options It is expected that you will take an equal number of courses in each semester, that is, 60 credits in each semester. However, a 70/50 or 50/70 split may be permitted with prior approval by your Programme Director.

10. Mitigating Circumstances Hopefully everything goes well and you have no problems throughout your year. BUT, we are humans and circumstances happen that may affect your studies. Mitigating circumstances/problems affecting your studies should be reported with appropriate documentation to D14 immediately.
