4. 4 About internship at the Technical University of Kosice (TUKE) UCITT - University Center for Innovation, Technology Transfer and protection of intellectual property rights Established in 2012, the basic tasks and services of UCITT include: -cooperation with industry in the field of applied research, innovations and technology transfer (ITT) from academy to industry, -support for research, scientific and innovation projects, -support for intellectual property protection (IPP) of results of the scientific activities conducted at TUKE, -support for human resources development and methodology of services for the fields mentioned above, -promoting achievements in Innovation and Technology Transfer through the UCITT portal. During the internship I gained experience in the field of the management of Intellectual Property Rights which helps me manage some changes in this field at Moldova State University: for instance, establishing and implementing the Institutional IP policy, introducing IP clauses in the researchers’ employment contracts, improving IP culture in the MSU. 7. I. Intellectual Property Management The first part is dedicated to the management of Intellectual Property Rights: -Particularities of IP management for universities; -Legal protection of the University intellectual property objects; -Identification of mechanisms to use IP objects in order to increase the value of research. 7

Analysis of situation of IP Management and Technology Transfer at the Moldova State University We perform an analysis whose aim is to identify the strengths and weaknesses of MSU in the management of IP and Technology Transfer, as well as the external opportunities and threats in these areas. Following the analysis carried out, one of the identified measures to minimize the risks and use opportunities is the creation of technology transfer offices at the MSU. 8

Proposals and innovative ideas for IP Management and TTO at the MSU Some proposals on Intellectual Property Management at MSU are made inspired from the experience obtained during the internship at the Technical University of Kosice, among which:  Introducing clear clauses on intellectual property rights and their use into researchers' employment contracts,  Application of new ways to promote academic elaborations in society,  Stimulating youth to create innovations throughout academic years by offering opportunities for their use in the Office of Technology Transfer and Innovation Incubator "Inventica USM". At the same time, I try to identify a clear and accessible mechanism for achieving technology transfer at MSU. It will include several activities designed to facilitate and stimulate creativity and innovation in the university. 10
