Chapter 16 Section 2: Heat Transfer By Mitchell Shumway, Tia Stitt Stormy Leroux, and Taylor Duggan

Energy and Temperature Gases are made up of molecules that are constantly moving. Temperature changes due to how active these molecules are.

Measuring Temperature Temperature is usually measured with a thermometer with a liquid of mercury or colored alcohol. Thermometers work because liquids expand when they are hot

How Is Heat Transferred Radiation- When you feel heat from the sun, you are feeling the energy coming from the sun. Conduction- The direct transfer of heat from one substance to another substance that it is touching. Convection- The transfer of heat by the movement of fluid.

In Daily Life Radiation, Conduction, and Convection are in your everyday life. For instance you feel radiation because when you feel the suns heat on your skin that is called radiation.

Heat In the Troposphere Radiation conduction and convection all work together to make the troposphere a suitable temperature for life on this planet.
