6.  Example Essay Two qualities of a good friend are loyalty and trust. Many would agree that loyalty is essential to a long lasting friendship. Often, dogs are considered to be “man’s best friend.” Dog’s are loyal to their humans no matter what happens. Similarly, people want to know that their friends will stay true through thick and thin. When one finds an individual that is loyal to that degree, he/she knows they have found a true friend. Another quality that a friendship cannot survive without is trust. The definition of trust is, “reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence.” The lack of trust in a friendship is very damaging because there is a lack of honesty and reliability. Ultimately, the strength of a friendship is built on one’s ability to rely on and have confidence in one another. In conclusion, a quality friendship must possess loyalty and trust.
