Teaching was identified as one of six occupations perceived as having “very great” prestige Over the past 30 years, those who see teachers as having “very great” prestige has risen 25 points from 29 to 54 percent. Teachers are the only occupation, among the 11 tracked, to see a large rise in prestige.

11 What do you have to do to be admitted into the Newberry College Teacher Ed program? Earn a C or better in EDU 224, 230, and 232. Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. Pass or exempt all three parts of PRAXIS I. Display positive dispositions for teaching. Write and submit an admissions essay. Apply for admission to Teacher Ed using LiveText.
