1. How do people from the past affect our lives today? By Sadie and Yazmine

2. Introduction  How did people from the past effect our lives today?  We chose this topic because we wanted to study about Rosa Parks and Helen Keller because of the amazing things they did

3. Helen Keller  Because Helen Keller got scarlet fever when she was nearly 2, she became deaf and blind and the fever did permanent damage to her brain – Sadie

4. Helen Keller  Because her parents sent a letter about teaching Helen how to communicate to Annie Sullivan, who is a teacher from the Perkins Institution, Helen got a teacher to help her communicate – Sadie

5. Helen Keller Because she learned words she was able to communicate - Sadie

6. Rosa  Because Rosa only got 50 cents a day as an adult it wasn ’ t fair because she got less than white people - Yazi

7. Rosa parks  Because of Klu Klux Klan ( KKK ) targeted African American people, the effect is most black churches were burnt down - Yazi

8. We learned…  We learned that we can learn alot from people from the past because everyone thought that they were less than human. And we think that they are just different but they should be treated with dignity - Sadie and Yazi
