2 Are you interested in trying out for Varsity or Junior Varsity cheerleading for next year? What about being Leo the Lion? There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, February 3 at 4 pm in the library. If you are interested in being a part of the spirit of Foley High School, come and check it out! See Ms. Lurwig in room 208 or Mrs. Willis in room 922 if you have any questions.

3 Have you seen the cute blanket they are raffling off in the Magnolia Room? If not, you need to check it out! Tickets are $1 and the drawing will take place on February 12 th.

4 Any student who would like to volunteer for South Alabama Children’s and Women’s Hospital this summer, needs to pick up an application packet from Mrs. Lores. Completed packets are due April 1.

5 FHS is going to Italy and you are invited to come too! Mr. Reed will be leading a 9-day trip to Italy in June of 2016. There will be an informational meeting on February 10, 2015 in the FHS Library at 6PM for anyone interested in the trip. 6 Rachel's Run, a 5K Race/Walk will be held on Saturday, February 21 at 8 am at The Wharf in Orange Beach. All proceeds will benefit the Rachel Grace Pigott Scholarship Fund. To register for the race, please visit our home page at www.foleyhs.com and download a registration form. Completed registration forms may be turned in to Mrs. Langham in the front office or to Mrs. Rickey Maurin in room 923. www.foleyhs.com

7 Anyone interested in being part of next year’s Dance Team (the blue diamonds), a member of the Colorguard, or even a new member of the band, please stop by and see Mr. Major in the bandroom.

8 Sophomore class of 2017 shirts are now available for pre-order. Shirts are $12 for short sleeve, $15 for long sleeve. These awesome shirts are Foley blue with gold lettering and can be worn until you graduate. Bring a check or cash and order your shirt in room 300 with Mrs. Frazier or room 921 with Mrs. Dossett by Wednesday, February 4.

10 Scholar’s Bowl practice will be held this afternoon in Mr. Reed’s room. Do not forget your completed permission slip for Thursday’s meet.

11 Key Club will meet Tuesday right after school in Ms. Crawford’s room 309. All officers and members should plan to attend.

12 Attention FBLA students: Your monthly meeting is scheduled for Thursday immediately after school in Ms. Porter’s room 307. Please plan to attend.

13 FCCLA will be meeting in Mrs. Amy Smith's room on Wednesday after school until 4:15. There are service projects to complete, so come ready to work.

14 Winter Ball is here! Have you gotten your tickets? You better hurry because NO tickets will be sold at the door and you MUST have a ticket to enter the dance on Saturday. Tickets are $13 and are on sale in Mrs. Lurwig’s room 208, Mrs. Cody’s room 210, or Mrs. Willis room 922. Outside Date Approval Forms are also available from Ms. Lurwig in room 208. You must complete a guest approval form before purchasing your tickets.

15 The Lighthouse Youth Task Force will meet Thursday in the library right after school.

16 Seniors: it is time to nominate songs, quotes, and flowers for your class. You can make suggestions this week! Give all suggestions to your HR teacher, or drop them off to Mrs. K. in room 207. All suggestions will be compiled and a ballot sent out for you to vote. Make your suggestions count! Remember, you can’t complain if you don’t make suggestions or vote!

18 Seniors: If you are going on the senior class trip, make sure you pay your $100 deposit by January 31st. Also, seniors Balfour invitations/wearables are here. Please see Mrs. K. in room 207 to pick up your stuff - you can come by before school/after school or during all lunch waves. Please don’t interrupt classes. :)

19 Seniors: The University of Southern Mississippi will be in the cafeteria during all lunch waves today.

20 Seniors, the financial aid office of Faulkner State Community College has scheduled FAFSA Night at Foley High School for you and your parents or guardians on Thursday, February 19, from 6-8 pm. Space is limited, so please sign up with Mrs. Daniels today. The sign-up deadline is Friday, February 13.
