2. WHAT’S THE IDEA?  Emergency circumstances may occur at school that require parents to come to school to pick you up in a formal, controlled release.  We need to practice incase of a real emergency.  Talk to your parents about this information!

3. WHY WOULD WE NEED TO HAVE A RELEASE TO PARENTS?  An Emergency such as:  Severe Weather  Earthquake  Natural Gas Leak  School shooting  Bomb threat  Flood  Extended power outage  Etc...

4. HOW DOES IT WORK?  The school will be placed in lock-out or lock-down status.  When the school is clear and safe, students will move to the gym to await parent pick-up. ( We will put on a movie or have some other activity to keep you occupied).  Parents will be notified by the school and district to come to T.H. Bell to pick you up.

5. HOW DOES IT WORK?  Parents will be notified using several different means:  District Emergency Notifier (Phone call system)  MyConnect (Text system from T.H. Bell)  AcyMailer (E-mail alert)  School Web-site (Notification on main page)  Text from you (Teacher must give you permission)

6. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MY PARENTS GET HERE?  Law Enforcement will direct parents to the WEST parking lot.  Parents will check in through the shop doors.  Parents MUST show ID to get you.  Runners will come to the gym to get you.  Parents will sign you out of school.  Exit the school and follow law enforcement directions to leave school property. 7. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES  Follow directions from teachers, staff and Law Enforcement.  Participate in a mature manner.  Wait to be picked up by a parent.  If your parents can’t pick you up you will go home at the regular release time of 2:35. Buses will be here as normally scheduled.  Talk to your parents and tell them about the drill.
