2 Solubility  The maximum amount of a solute that dissolves in a given amount of solvent at a constant temperature.

3 Saturated Solution  Contains as much solute as the solvent can hold at a given temperature

4 Unsaturated Solutions  A solution that has less than the maximum amount of solute that can be dissolved.

5 Supersaturated Solutions  Solution that can hold more solute than it normally can at a given temperature.

6 Factors affecting Solubility  Polar and Non-polar Solvents - like dissolves like  Temperature - solubility increases as temp. increases.  Pressure - increase pressure, increases solubility
