1 Access to Services for Persons with Disabilities in Challenging Environments Dear Participants, Our seminar « Access to services » is based on exchanges, encounters and discussions. In order to identify each other more easily, we ask you to fill in the small document (“introduction form”). Then, all introduction forms will be collected and shared between participants. 3 Access to Services for Persons with Disabilities in Challenging Environments What are your two major experiences in relation to the access to services ? 1.Yemen: working on service costs and services fees of PRC related to poverty level 2. Angola: developing identification-referral- transport and follow up system for accessing PRC

4 Access to Services for Persons with Disabilities in Challenging Environments According to your experiences, what are the biggest obstacles to the access to services for persons with disabilities ? - Financial access (services fees, transport, lodging…) - Geographical access -Not aware of the benefits of the services -Difficult to leave the familly for a long period of treatment - not a priority for poor families - security for women and children (travel, lodging)

5 Access to Services for Persons with Disabilities in Challenging Environments According to your experiences, what can facilitate the access to services for persons with disabilities ? 1. Have financial support 2. Receive the right information about the service (what can be expected- conditions of treatment,..) 3. Have appropriate conditions during the treatment 4. Have a concerete example of someone that have been treated for a similar situation
