2 Main Idea In addition to important civil liberties protected by the 1st Amendment, the other 9 amendments guarantee the right to fair legal treatment, and well as other freedoms. 3 I. Protecting the Rights of the Accused (127-129) The 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th Amendments protect the rights of accused people A.
