5 New PINS-C Proposal Measurements of an Ambient RF Environment Study Project Study how the collection of RF spectrum data can be standardized to facilitate the sharing of data to examine common environments in aggregate. PROJECT STATUS PINS-C submitted for considerationPINS-C Jason Coder of NIST to chair the effort.

6 New PINS-C Proposal Focused on localized spectrum monitoring (i.e., room or building). Investigating how having a standardized data collection format would impact collection, sharing, and mining. Determining the parameters to be collected. Collection of Spectrum Data

7 Similar Efforts Collection of Spectrum Data We haven’t identified duplicate efforts, but there are a few that are similar: NIST/NTIA developing a large-scale spectrum monitoring system. − For use in making spectrum allocation decisions. IEEE 1900.6: “Spectrum Sensing Interfaces and Data Structures for DSA and Other Advanced Radio Comm. Systems.” − Specifies spectrum sensing requirements to support IEEE 802.22. − Defines information exchange between spectrum sensors and their clients − Logical interface and data structure In June, 2014 the ITU Working Party 1C established a Correspondence Group on the development of a harmonized format for the collection of IQ data − Complete an inventory of formats currently being used − Propose a harmonized format − Work to be completed in 2016
