2 Statutory Requirements ▪ TEC §12.119(b) – Identifying and annual compensation information ▪ Charter holder governing board ▪ School officers ▪ TAC §100.1007 (in addition to above) – Identifying and annual compensation information ▪ Charter school governing board (if applicable) ▪ Family members (conflict of interest & nepotism)

3 Statutory Requirements ▪ “Identifying Information” – Title and function performed – Specific powers and duties – Legal name and any aliases used – Mailing address – Telephone number and email address – State in which the individual is registered to vote – Assurance that criminal history has been checked – Assurance that training requirements are up to date and, if not, why (CSPF).

4 Statutory Requirements ▪ TEC §12.1211/§12.136 – Website where: ▪ Charter holder governing board members’ names are listed ▪ Salary of superintendent of charter school is listed ▪ Local Government Code §140.006 – Website where: ▪ Charter school’s AFRs are available.

5 Other requirements ▪ Governance forms must* be submitted electronically through CSTS – Accessed via the Texas Education Agency Login (TEAL) system *university charters are the exception

6 Other requirements ▪ Must have both “Charter Data Entry” and “Charter Approver” roles in CSTS

7 Other requirements ▪ Information submitted to TEA must match the information currently registered with the Secretary of State (SOS) – May be updated via SOSDirectSOSDirect

8 Other requirements ▪ Paper copies of all signed and date forms must be maintainted at the charter school or charter district office at all times (19 TAC §100.1023(a)(3)) – Must be made immediately available to any TEA employee who, during a visit, requests to view them – Signed and dated forms will be sent to TEA for review with three business days upon request by TEA staff ▪ Electronic forms must be submitted no later than Tuesday, December 1, 2015 – CSTS opened for reporting on October 19, 2015
