4 Activity # 1 Describe the Fall of Rome and its impact on Western Europe Complete a venn diagram comparing the Fall of Rome to the current state of the US. Each side should include the four main causes and a description of each as it relates to the particular society

5 Activity # 2 Describe how loyalty was used as a means of survival We completed a pyramid to describe the relationships between Lords, Knights and Serfs. Using what you know about feudalism, design your own graphic organizer that embodies the spirit of this era and demonstrates the connection between the groups Ex: if we were doing a graphic organizer about America, you could design it in the shape of the US

6 Activity # 2a Feudal Skits You are receiving the skits you designed last week Take 3 minutes to prepare with your group You will be presenting The class will vote on “Best skit” ▫Winning group gets candy!

7 Activity # 3 Assess how the Christian religion became a political force by justifying claims of its power 7 minute free write answering the question: ▫Which was more powerful – church or the king? ▫Write for 7 minutes answering this question  Hint: think about feudalism and the Crusades

8 Activity # 4 Describe how the Crusades have had a lasting impact on society Write two sentences describing why the Crusades were fought and the impact they had on society. Make a prediction: What circumstances would have to exist for a situation like the Crusades to happen again?! (ie, what would happen for all countries to band together and fight?)

9 Activity # 5 Describe the effects of increased trade towards the end of the Middle Ages Imagine that you are a merchant who is opening a shop selling spices in Italy. You get the spices from the Middle East, and sell to other Europeans. List the five things that you will need in order to be a successful merchant. List five things that you will want to spend your money on.

10 Activity # 6 Game Prep On the paper provided, choose one of the following five topics and title the paper with the appropriate topic: ▫Fall of Rome ▫Feudalism ▫Christianity ▫Crusades ▫Trade Number the paper 1-5 For each number, write a question about that topic Each number should get more difficult ▫IE, 1 is the easiest and 5 is the hardest
