3. Human Timeline  As a class we will create a timeline showing the causes of World War I and America’s entry into the war.  If I gave you a sheet, please tape it to your clothes  The rest of the class will move the timeline pieces (humans) into place

4. Heightened sense of Nationalism (i.e. France sought to regain Alsace- Lorraine from Germany in 1871)

5. Heightened sense of Imperialism (i.e., The quest for overseas colonies in Africa, the Middle East and Asia brought European powers into conflict

6. Heightened sense of Militarism (i.e., In response to Britain’s dominant navy, Germany increased the size of its navy, stockpiled weapons, and increased the size of its army)

21. To fight or not to fight: Debate  Read your assigned speech and think about the questions on the bottom of the speech:  What were President Wilson’s reasons for entering the war?  What were Senator Norris’s reasons for neutrality?  Debate your side!

22. Conclusion  What were the main causes of World War I?  When and why did the United States enter the war?

23. Mapping the War  Using any notes or an atlas, fill in the maps as best as possible  Color and label neatly!  This counts as a homework grade!
