MORALITY – WHAT IS IT??? Right and wrong – a belief system for actions Behavior = good vs. bad Based on family – you learn from parents first Challenging – influence of others school, friends, media, religion

“ THE GOLDEN RULE ” – TREAT OTHERS… Theorist – Lawrence Kohlberg (more later) People have to be taught right from wrong – not instinctive Different stages of moral development: Pre-conventional – mostly focused on outcome of behavior Conventional – mostly focused on what’s right for society Post-conventional – mostly focused on what’s truly right and fair for all
