5 Writing an Application – Tips Don’t leave it to the last minute… Use a draft form/photocopy to practise. If the funder has a set format for applications, follow it. Application letters – 2 sides of A4. Look at funders’ priorities and tone. Proofread. Ask someone else to read it. Date

6 Writing an Application - Tips Use positive, active language. ‘Our scheme helped 200 users in six months.’ Not ‘In six months, 200 users were helped by our scheme.’ Avoid jargon, abbreviations. Be clear and concise. Date
