 Hydro power is water that goes through a dam that produces electricity.

 The water flows through a pipe then pushes against and turns blades in a turbine to spin a generator to produce electricity. Below is a picture of a Generator.

1. It is renewable. 2. It does not pollute. 3. There is a lot of water in the world. 4. Once dams are constructed, electricity can come at a faster rate. 5. Dams can last for many decades.

1. Dams are very expensive. 2. Dams can cause very bad natural damage. 3. Dams can cause bad floods. 4. Dams can kill a bunch of animals. 5. It is hard to find a place to build dams.

1. Hydro power depends on the water cycle. 2. Hydro power is the 2nd best renewable energy source besides fossil fuel. 3. Hydro power is the least expensive energy source in the U.S.A. 4. Hydro power can be used anywhere that there is falling water. 5. Hydro Power accounts for 70% of produced electricity in northwestern United States.

Hydro Power is used in 5 states. These 5 states are: California, Oregon, Washington, Montana and New York. These 5 states are mostly in the west part of the United States.
