3 EXPECTATIONS O ACC classes are not LTHS classes. You must register for an ACC class through the ACC application and registration process. O Grades – will appear as a number grade on your high school transcript (not calculated in high school GPA); will appear as a letter grade on your college transcript (may be calculated in your college GPA & can impact financial aide and acceptance)

4 EXPECTATIONS O Classes taken online or at an ACC campus will cost $150.00 O All students will be required to purchase the required textbooks and materials for each class.

5 Expectations O Ability to write college level research papers and or essay style exams O Accountability for missed assignments; most classes don’t have “make up” work O Heavy reading expectation outside of class O College courses subject to ACC curriculum O Expect to commit 2 additional hours of study time for success

6 Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) O *** Students MUST meet SAP to be eligible for initial financial aid consideration. This includes Early College Start courses taken at/through ACC*** O Three components: GPA, Completion Rate, & Maximum time frame

7 SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS – CONT. O GPA – 2.0 cumulative GPA on all hours attempted at ACC O Completion Rate– must complete 67% of all hours attempted at ACC. Completion rate is different for each university. Ex: UT – 75%, Texas A & M – 75%,Tx State – 70% **CHECK THE SCHOOL OF YOUR CHOICE ** PERFORMANCE IN THE DUAL CREDIT CLASS MAY IMPACT ADMISSIONS & FINACIAL AID PACKAGES.

8 TSI Exemptions (permanent) O ACT: 23 composite AND 19 English = TSI reading & writing O ACT: 23 composite AND 19 math = TSI math O SAT: 1070 combined critical reading(CR)/math and 500 CR = TSI reading & writing O SAT: 1070 combined critical reading(CR)/math and 500 math = TSI math O STAAR: English III – Level 2 = TSI reading & writing O STAAR: Algebra II – Level 2 = TSI math

9 TSI Exemptions – temporary while in high school (ECS) O PSAT scores prior to new test Oct 2015: 107 combined critical reading(CR)/math AND 50 CR = TSI reading & writing O PSAT scores prior to new test Oct 2015: 107 combined critical reading(CR)/math AND 50 math = TSI math O STAAR: English II (combined reading & writing test) scaled score of 4000 = TSI reading & writing O STAAR: Algebra I scaled score of 4000 AND (70 or higher) in high school Algebra II course = TSI math

10 What if I don’t meet test scores? O TSI Assessment – Students that do not have qualifying test scores must take the TSI Assessment to demonstrate college readiness. O Scores needed on the TSI Assessment: Reading – 351 Writing – Essay 5+ OR Essay 4 and multiple choice 363+ Math - 350

35 PRINT AND TURN IN TO COUNSELING OFFICE BEFORE GETTING AN ECS FORM (STEP 4).

36 STEP THREE-TESTING O Determine if testing is required. ACT: Composite 23 and 19 English and 19 math SAT: 1070 Combined CR & M and 500 critical reading and 500 math STAAR: English III – Level 2; Algebra II – Level 2 For ECS only while in high school: PLAN (ASPIRE): Composite 23 and 19 English and 19 math PSAT prior to 2015 new test : 107 Combined CR & M and 50 critical reading and 50 math STAAR: English II (combined reading & writing test) scaled score of 4000+ STAAR: Algebra I scaled score of 4000+ and (70 or higher) in high school algebra II

37 STEP THREE-TESTING O COMPLETE Pre-Assessment Activity (PAA) prior to testing. PAA can be completed online http://sites.austincc.edu/paa/introduction/no w-before-we-begin/ O PRINT your completion certificate for PAA and present to testing staff upon arrival for testing along with your photo ID at an ACC Campus. 38 STEP FOUR O OBTAIN & COMPLETE ECS FORM O Must turn in the required paperwork before picking up an ECS form from your counselor: 1. LTHS Verification form 2. TOP-Orientation Certificate 3. TSI Scores (if needed)

39 STEP FOUR O All paperwork must be turned in to the counseling office by set date (TBA) in order to get advised at LTHS O 1. LTHS Verification O 2.TOP CERTIFICATE (Online Orientation) O 3. TEST SCORES ONLY IF YOU TOOK TSI (we will provide PSAT OR EOC scores) O 4. ECS FORM O MEET WITH ACC ADVISOR O YOU MUST BE ADVISED BEFORE REGISTERING FOR ANY ACC CLASS.

40 STEP FIVE O REGISTER FOR ACC DURING THE REGISTRATION PERIOD, USING ACC ONLINE SERVICES: www.austincc.edu/online-services O Register early and before deadline (Wednesday before the 1 st day of class). O Confirm registration by printing the “My Class Schedule” from online services each semester. ***Submission of your ECS form does NOT register you into ACC classes. You MUST register for the ACC class through the ACC website to be enrolled in the class!!!

41 STEP SIX O Tuition Payment O ONLINE: Using ACCeID, can pay in full or set up a payment plan. O IN PERSON: Any campus Cashier's Office. O Payment MUST be received by payment deadlines listed online, if a student believes the tuition due is incorrect, contact a specialist immediately, or the student will be dropped for non-payment. O REMINDER: Courses must be a part of the ACC core curriculum, workforce course, foreign languages, or KINE 1304/1305 to be eligible for dual credit tuition and fees waiver. Courses not eligible will be assessed regular tuition and fees. ACC allows for 12 total waivers per student.
