2 bisect (verb) Definition: To cut into two pieces
In geometry we will be studying how to bisect a right angle into two 45 degree angles.

3 dissect (verb) Definition: To cut apart for the purpose of investigation In biology class, students dissect a cow’s heart to study anatomy.

4 insect (noun) Definition:
A class of small arthropod animals that has three separate sections to their bodies: head, thorax, abdomen An ant is an example of an insect in that it has a head, thorax, and abdomen.

5 intersection (noun) Definition:
The point at which two lines or roads meet and cut across each other The intersection at Alma School and Queen Creek Road is dangerous to cross.

6 section (noun) Definition: A separate part of something.
My father only reads the sports section of the newspaper in the morning with his coffee.

7 sectional (noun) Definition:
A couch that is made up of separate pieces My brother is always hogging the living room sectional when his favorite TV show comes on.

8 sector (noun) Definition: A separate part of society, group, or area
Pennsylvania has several Amish sectors dotted across its countryside and visitors are welcome to the Amish communities.

9 transect (verb) Definition: To cut across something
The new freeway will transect our neighborhood so many neighbors will lose their homes.

10 trisect (verb) Definition: To cut into three separate pieces.
The students trisected the project, but poor Martha, as usual, had to complete the biggest portion.

11 vivisection (noun) Definition: Surgery on living animals;
Medical research that involves cutting into living animals to study organs, tissues, and diseases Protests against animal research due to vivisection and experimentation on helpless animals are common.
