2.  Being a preschool teacher can be a lot of hard work. Everyday you need to teach young kids, up to five years old, by doing activities that promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.

3.  Set rules for behavior and maintaining order.  Teach basic skills such as color, numbers, letters, personal hygiene, and social skills.  Attend to basic needs such as feeding, dressing, and changing dippers.  Give a variety and resources for the children to explore, in both learning activities and imaginative play.  Demonstrate different kind of activities to the children.

6.  Teachers in New York State are required to have a bachelors and masters degree in Education.  Many colleges in Western New York train students to become teachers such as SUNY Fredonia, Buffalo State University.  You need previous work related skill, or experience.  Training in vocational schools, related on the job experience, or an associates degree is needed.  You also need one or two years of training involving both on the job experience, and informal training with experienced workers.
