6 Bike Culture in Cairns It is courteous and respectful of the right of way of traffic for a cyclist to obey traffic lights and road signs.

14 Bike Safety If I am involved in an accident… 1.Record the car’s number plate; e.g., use your mobile phone. 2.Try to get the person’s name and contact number 3.If a taxi/bus record their driver or vehicle number (on the windscreen) 4.Record the time and location; get witness contact details 5.You may need to go to the 24 hour medical centre; take photos of injuries. 6.You may need to report the accident to the police; e.g., the car drives away or there is a lot of damage to your bike or injury to yourself. 7.Reflect on how you can ride defensively to avoid future accidents. 8.Let us know at GMA!
