The wind energy sails ships. During (1600 – 1700) Netherlands became rich en powerful when they establish trading with the help of sailing ships that could go all over the world. Previously the wind was an indispensable tool for water transport. In Holland there was many rivers en big lakes but the windmills pump the water away to the sea and keep the ground dry. Otherwise Holland would really be under water.

Without wind you can’t surf, fly kites or ride on the wind buggies! See how powerfull wind can be.

How windturbines works is similer to the bicycle dynamo. How harder you cycle how faster the top of the dynamo spins and the light wil go on. The energy in the wind turns propeller-like blades around a rotor. The rotor is connected to the main shaft, which spins a generator to create electricity.

I remember one time when I was going in one direction facing the wind to Kijkduin and it took me an hour and 15 minutes to get there. Later I turned around with the wind on my back and I came back home in less than one hour!!! WIND POWER You try it!!

When electricity using wind turbines are not harmful substances. And wind will always blow. This energy source is clean and never ending, in short: sustainable. Fossil energy such as natural gas and coal will one day end. Burning of natural gas for electricity release CO2 and other harmful gases which brings about greenhouse effect which a major role in all kinds of climate changes. Polution also causes acid rain which is harmful to everything on earth. The biggest windfarm in Europe.

Go Sea Clean Wind Energy!!! Wind power is free (after the initial production and installation) Wind power is clean (no pollution or carbon dioxide after the initial setup, apart from the emissions produced to manufacture, transport, erect and maintain them) Wind is a renewable and sustainable resource. We can use as much as we can today and there will still be more tomorrow. Wind power will become cheaper than fossil fuel in the next few years (when the price of carbon is added to coal and oil). Wind turbines are self sufficient, just place them and watch 'em spin! (low maintenance, few moving parts, easy to repair) Wind prices won't inflate like today's gas prices. Land can still be used for farming and other industries. At the moment we get our fuel (fossil fuels, mainly oil) from other countries. What would happen if one day they decided to cut off our power? We would be powerless.
