Also…  Mixed Numbers - Another way to write improper fractions - Another way to write improper fractions - ex: 7/4= 1 ¾, 7/2= 3 ½ - ex: 7/4= 1 ¾, 7/2= 3 ½  HOW DID I JUST DO THAT?!?!?! - How many fours go into 7? - How many fours go into 7? - = 1 - = 1 - What is 7-4? - What is 7-4? - = 3 - = 3 - You put the 3 over your denominator - You put the 3 over your denominator - So there is one whole and ¾ left! - So there is one whole and ¾ left!

More on Mixed Numbers  How would I convert this mixed number to an improper fraction???  3 ¾? - You go 4x3 (denominator x your whole number) - You go 4x3 (denominator x your whole number) - = 12 - = 12 - 12 + your numerator = 12+3 - 12 + your numerator = 12+3 - = 15 - = 15 - This number goes over your denominator - This number goes over your denominator - = 15/4 - = 15/4

6. Question  How many fourths make up a whole? - =4! - =4!  If I have six fourths, do I have more than one whole? How do you know?
