2 ANZAC DAY ANZAC day is held on April the 25 th to remember the soldiers killed in the first word war and the second. ANZAC dates from 1914-1918 WW1.

3 POPPIES Poppies are for the remembrance of the soldiers who died. Lots of people buy poppies to wear.

5 IN FLANDERS FIELD In Flanders Field is a famous poem about the poppies when in the war. View it in the next slides.

6 IN FLANDER’S FIELD In Flanders Field, the poppies blow, Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place and in the sky, The larks still bravely singing, fly, Scarce heard amidst the guns below.

7 Continue… We are the dead, short days ago, We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow. Loved and were loved and now we lie In Flanders field.

8 Continue… Take up our quarrel with the foe, To you from failing hands we throw, The torch be yours to hold it high, If ye break faith with us who die. We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders field.

9 People who sell poppies on ANZAC day People sell poppies on ANZAC Day to donate to services and to remember the dead.

11 Church services Some Church services are held to remember the dead. Not all Churches do this but some do. Memorials and other services are also held to remember the dead.
