2 THIS SEO presentation was produced as part of a Web Building package I have created for beginners…..however – I add it here to enable Zukul Beginners to get some ‘IDEA’ of what SEO is about because it WILL be helpful in applying ‘keywords’ to your Landing Pages.  I would particularly draw your attention to the ‘Meta Tag Grabber’ – google it and you will find a range of options you can use to sort out some good keywords for your Landing Pages

3 The Main Steps Understand that SEO is Definitely a Long Term Strategy  Know your Keywords  Identify your “Target Market”  Track Your Websites Progress

4 Onsite – All the things you can do to make YOUR site more attractive to the “search engines” There are TWO types of SEO to be aware of…. Offsite – Creating credibility for your website on the web. We will concentrate on the Onsite SEO

5 Will depend largely on your site – is it? A Niche Market or information site or Product based in a highly competitive market? Just like planning your business plans You must think long term! Set Goals Prioritize

6  Keyword Research  Know your Competition?  Goals (if you don’t know where you are going – how do you know if you have got there?)

7 Some Additional tips: look at your competition Check Online forums Check where Customers are coming from look at “news sites”

8 Three main points 1.Competition 2. Demand 3. Relevance

9 Do not include “keywords that are not relevant If a keyword has a low search volume only include it if it is very relevant

10 Check your major competition in the major search engines like Google, Yahoo & Bing

11 There are 4 things to concentrate on 1.Title Tags 2.Meta Tags 3.Keyword Usage 4.Content

12 In HTML “Title Tag” is denoted by and always appears as the title of the webpage A title tag tells search engines & readers what the page is about. The title tag should be kept short and readable.

13 You have to have a balance between optimising for search engines & readers.  Title Tags should be unique to each page  Match Keywords to pages  Make page title relate to page function  Remember your domain name is a branding tool & can describe your site  Keep Title Tags short & succinct

14 The following is an example of a set of meta tags

15 The above meta tag should appear on all pages – it is describing language being used This meta tag is obvious & self explanatory Here you would put the description as shown here

16 In the inverted commas you put concisely what the page is about. The all important part. Keyword content is the main indicator for search engines in determining relevance of a certain page. The three meta tags Robots, copyright, & revisit need no explanatiom REMEMBER Match specific keywords to specific pages for optimum results

17 1.Avoid “Duplicate” content 2.Keep Content unique to each page 3.Add worthwhile content to each page.

18 5 DIY TIPS 1)Include the main keyword in the “page name” 2)Each page should have a unique “title tag” 3)Each page should have a unique “meta description” 4)Always add captions to images 5)Link your pages one to another
