9. PLAY Intrinsic value Play is undertaken for it’s own sake, there are no external rewards, it has no purpose. Play can be childlike, and allows an individual to be in a fantasy world. The number of participants, area played in and time played for are all not strictly structured. Fun Individuals play to enjoy themselves; non serious. Rules are changeable, negotiated and freely accepted. Spontaneous It requires little pre planning or organisation.
