3 Course Credits Needed Earning 6 credits = Sophomore Earning 12 credits = Junior Earning 20 credits = Senior Passing 1 course = Earning 1 credit 28 Credits are required to graduate These are minimum requirements The goal is to earn 8 credits each school year

4 Graduation Requirements for Rising Juniors/Seniors Content Area Courses English – 4 CreditsEnglish 1, English 2, English 3, English 4 Math – 4 CreditsIntegrated Math I, II, and III a 4 th math aligned with post HS plans Science – 3 CreditsEarth/Environmental, Physical Science or Chemistry, and Biology Social Studies – 4 CreditsWorld History, Civics/Economics, U.S. History Health/Physical Education – 1 CreditHealth/Physical Education Electives – 12 Credits4 Credit Concentration in one area + 2 elective credits from foreign language, CTE or Arts + 6 additional credits of student’s choice (More details in next slide) Second LanguageMinimum of two credits required for college entrance but not for high school graduation 28 Credits Required to Graduate

11 What you need to do… Over the course of this week, go to the SIHS’ home page http://iss.schoolwires.com/southhigh Scroll down and click on the heading “Registration Guide” Pick out the classes you need / want for fall and write them down. Then bring them to registration starting February 11th. Include 4 alternate electives! Try to recall your username and password for Career Cruising (www.f4k.org)
