1 Plant Classifications
Information about plants that you may not have known

2 Bryophyta Mosses Seedless nonvascular
No roots, mimicries of stems and leaves, and absorbs its nutrients and water directly Water: Sperm splashed or swim to eggs Any sort of habitat that has an abundance of water Glittering Wood Moss and Sphagnum Mosses are a pioneer plant which means that they are one of the first life forms to grow in an abandoned and dead area

3 Hepatophyta Liverworts Seedless Nonvascular
Eggs are perched upon umbrella structures Terrestrial and Freshwater environments Eggs are on top of umbrella like structures and the sperm swims to the eggs Thallose and Leafy They reproduce both asexually and sexually

4 Anthocerophyta Hornwort Seedless Nonvascular
Looks like grass and thallose liverworts however, hornworts produce spores Tropical forests and along streams Spores Dendroceros, Megaceros and Nothoceros Only has 100 species but more are still being discovered everyday

5 Lycophyta Club mosses Seedless Vascular
Low growing understory or submerged aquatic plants, depend on water for reproduction but can transfer from roots to leaves Moist areas Through the water Spike mosses, Alaskan Club mosses, Quillwarts Oldest known vascular in the kingdom

6 Pterophyta Ferns Seedless Vascular
Leaf morphology, have true leaves, roots, and steams Have no specific habitat, many different types Spores Eusporangia, Leptosporngia Fern fossils have been found that have been over 300 million years old

7 Cycadophyta Cycads Vascular Cone-bearing seed
Strong, fern like leaves and thick, barrel like trunks Tropic and Subtropic Pollen travels through the air to germinate seeds Many cycads face extinction

8 Ginkophyta Ginkgos Vascular Cone-bearing seed
Branches that bear reproductive structures, and leaves with extensive growth Deciduous environment Seeds and Pollen Ginkgo Tree and Maidenhair Tree Extinct in China

9 Coniferophyta Conifers Vascular Cone-bearing seed
Evergreen and Needle-like leaves and Pine cones Colder Climate, higher elevation Pine cones (Male and Female) Bristlecone Pine, Cook Pine, and Coast Douglas Fir Keep there leaves all year round and don’t die during the winter.

10 Anthophyta Flowering Plants Vascular Flowering Seed Plants
Sprout Flowers and seeds are enclosed in fruit No specific type of habitat other than it needs regular rain fall Seeds and Pollen Sunflowers, Cherry trees, and Apple trees Can reproduce both sexually and asexually by using their anthers. There is no male or female plant, they have both reproduce structures
