Psychological Disorder Psychological Disorder - Clinically significant behavioral or psychological pattern that is associated with: 1. distress (e.g., psychological pain, anxiety, or depression) 2. disability or maladaptive behavior–significant impairment in one or more areas of psychological functioning, especially the ability to work and to get along with others. 3. increased risk of suffering disability, pain, or death 4. loss of freedom or personal control
