2 Student feedback from the positive behaviour survey No one cares about detentions, the current detention system does not act as a deterrent to some students The idea of the immediate detention if you get an 8 or 9 in the day More rewards for good behaviour More consistency in applying the behaviour policy from teachers Seating plan – if students not sat in their correct seats can cause the behaviour to deteriorate. More staff in corridors (corridor behaviour) Staggered exits from lessons to reduce corridor congestion

3 Feedback from Staff Survey: 55 respondents (42 Teachers and 13 WWF) 95% answered YES to being familiar with the Behaviour Policy When asked if they feel able to implement it successfully: – 33% answered YES – 13% answered NO – 54% answered SOMETIMES

Students are required to be sat down and ready to learn 5 minutes after the end of the previous lesson, any alteration to this is at the professional discretion of the teacher. Teachers should record all lateness to lesson by right clicking on the register cell and inputting the number of minutes late. Students who fail to attend on time should be followed up by the class teacher and the faculty. Punctuality to class is monitored by student managers and heads of phase and where punctuality is a recurring concern the phase team will intervene

18 14. If you awarded a student an 8 in a lesson what do you do next? You will be expected to go down to the detention and speak to the pupil about their behaviour in your lesson; ring the parent to discuss the behaviour issue and record on SIM’s by right clicking the register cell, clicking on the ‘enter comments’ tab and recording a brief comment If you award an 8 during lesson 5 you should escort the student to the daily detention
