2. St Mary’s RC Sunderland Put a lot of fears to rest. Simplified and wide ranging curriculum. Extremely helpful – helped to understand what the new curriculum requires – breaking the code! Found it beneficial to link computing to other curriculum areas rather than have a specific timetabled lesson.

Really enjoyed hands on approach to Scratch programme. An excellent morning which enabled me to meet all the aims outlined. A very informative and useful session. Now feel more confident with new ICT curriculum and planning for this.

5. Blue Coat Junior, Durham As a relative novice in arena of co-ordinating the subject of computing I found Mel’s input extremely helpful and clear. She was very patient with my obvious questions and has given me more confidence to successfully launch the new scheme of work with our staff.

6. Easington Lane Primary Very useful. Gained more understanding and confidence. A beneficial day giving some good advice on the new curriculum and E-Safety. A great day – very informative. A great day – excellent opportunities to discuss worries / concerns and ask questions. Thank you! The Early Years’ Scheme of Work was particularly useful as the early years’ curriculum for technology is very thin. The day was very informative and the practical sessions were very helpful. Good introduction to Scratch/Purplemash.

7. Hill View Junior Clarified that some of what we are teaching fits with the current curriculum but also identified areas that we need to evaluate. Was very beneficial to see where our current planning matches the Programme of Study. Puts into context lots of what we do and how it fits with the curriculum and new ideas. Enjoyable and relevant to our current needs. The progression charts for each aspect of the computing curriculum were particularly helpful.

8. Computing Assessment Package

9. Morpeth Road Very useful to see how ICT covers other subjects and ways to embed across the curriculum. As part of the Early Years’ Team, it was lovely to see that we were covering a lot of the Y1 skills. We have looked at the Early Learning Skills in the scheme and it helps provide assessments in smaller steps to show progress. Pre-computing and early skills development was very helpful. Topic planning was really useful. It was nice to see some of the objectives that need to be covered have already been covered by use to a certain level. Topic planning links – brilliant.

11. Morpeth Road Clear structure and guidance delivered for the curriculum. To learn about the new scheme of work – at the end of the day, I understood on a level of what to do/teach. Feel more confident with the new curriculum. Very informative day making the computing curriculum clear. Good explanation of the new curriculum and good planning. Good time to try Scratch – good fun. Excellent planning for ICT and topic.

13. Hylton Castle When faced with a new school build, a changing curriculum and a retiring IT leader we were, for a short time, aghast. That was until we enlisted the support of JEM. They have literally guided us as a staff, a school and a community to create our vision for IT in our new school, considering what is important to us. They have then enabled us to make this vision a reality; leading staff CPD, supporting us in recruiting new technical support providers and developing our curriculum for computing. The knowledge, expertise and professionalism we have experienced through our work with JEM has been second to none and I would highly recommend their services!

Beneficial for Key Stage 1 and 2. Very useful and informative day. I really learned a lot today and this will definitely help with my teaching of IT.
