2 Welcome to Year 3 Introduction Transition from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2 Making children independent learners: - Pack their own bags for school – it’s never Mum’s fault! - Say goodbye before the bell - Children have coming in activities - Encourage them to put their own things away

3 Literacy Class are all taught by Miss Dickson Format of lesson: - Class input and teacher modelling - Independent Activities and guided work - Plenary/sharing session Guided reading Library books in school and reading books to take home Handwriting Spellings

4 Taught in ability sets across Y3, 4 and 5 with Miss Dickson or Mrs Foxley Format of lesson - Mental warm up. - Teacher led activity. - Group Activities (Independent/ Focus) - Plenary Numeracy
