Center for Innovation in STEM Education, CISE MISSION The mission of the Center for Innovation in STEM Education (CISE) is to bring Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics to the forefront of K-16 education through leadership and service. CISE is a regional center focused on enabling transformative and inspiring STEM learning experiences. We engage with K-16 students as well as pre-service and in-service teachers. Our partnerships with schools, districts, community colleges, local and national organizations, philanthropic and industry leaders serve to broaden our impact across institutions and our local and global community.

What is the Noyce Scholars Program (NSP)? ► It is a National Science Foundation (NSF) Grant- Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program ► Its purpose is to increase the number of highly qualified math/science teachers in hard-to-staff schools and to increase diversity in math & science majors ► It is a grant that will provide up to $10,000 per year in scholarships over the next five years to eligible upper division students enrolled in CSU Dominguez Hills ► It is a partnership between the College of Education (COE), College of Natural & Behavioral Sciences (CNBS), Community Colleges and School Districts Noyce Scholars

► Individualized academic plan & pathway to becoming a math or science teacher ► Ongoing advising & support: Meet regularly with a Noyce advisor to track your progress ► Serve as a student teacher (instructional assistant-paid assignment) in a math or science classroom with a CSI3 Teacher and gain first-hand experience in the classroom ► Financial Support: Receive up to $10,000 per year for up to 2 years (junior or senior year) and qualify for a TEACH grant ($4,000) ► Participate in a CSI3 Credential Program after obtaining your undergraduate degree Noyce Benefits

► Be a single-subject Math or Science major (junior or senior) ► Be in good standing with the university (full-time student, minimum 3.0 GPA cumulative or 3.0 in the last 30 units; complete major requirements in 2 years) ► Be willing to participate as a student teacher in partner schools for two years ► Qualify for any form of financial aid ► Pass interview with selection committee ► MUST AGREE TO TEACH IN ONE OF OUR PARTNER HIGH NEED SCHOOLS FOR A MINIMUM OF 4 YEARS Noyce Eligibility

► The goal of MSTI is to expand the capacity to recruit, prepare, support, and retain highly qualified middle and high school teachers to teach in high-need secondary schools within the communities served by CSUDH ► MSTI is a support program which provides counseling, academic, financial, and placement support ► Under MSTI, students can obtain either their Multiple Subjects Preliminary Credential with an Introductory Subject Matter Authorization (ISMA) in either math or science (MSTI scholars) or they can obtain a single subject preliminary credential in math or science ► ISMA is an authorization that may be added to your preliminary teaching credential (It allows you to teach the subject matter content (e.g. math or science) to grades 9 or below) MSTI Overview

► Complete preliminary credential program in just 1YEAR (3 semesters) ► $5,000 stipend (plus TEACH grant) ► This is an intern program – you will earn full salary and benefits as a teacher while completing your credential courses online. ► Work under the guidance of a Master Teacher ► Complete preliminary credential and Masters in 15 months (4 semesters) ► Participate in a semester long internship to gain applied knowledge ► $30,000 stipend (plus TEACH grant) ► Specialized knowledge in Response to Intervention (RTI) ► Complete preliminary credential program in just 1YEAR (3 semesters) ► SETTI teachers are assigned teacher assistants during first year ► $7,250 stipend (plus TEACH grant ) Specific Program Benefits TTT Hybrid SSETI STAR
