2 © 2015 albert-learning.com RULE:1 Spelling of some verbs change in simple present tense with ‘he’ ‘she', 'it’ and any singular subject. Rule 1: Verbs end in ‘y’ Verbs that end in 'y' often change 'y' to 'ie' before 's': study becomes studies try becomes tries marry becomes marries fly becomes flies cry becomes cries NOTE: 'y' doesn't change to 'ie' if the ending is 'ay', 'ey', 'oy', 'uy'. So, play becomes plays, say becomes says, buy becomes buys, enjoy becomes enjoys, stay becomes stays.

( wash) 2.She watches television every time. (watch) 3.John fixes the technical problems very quickly. (fix) Rule 2
