4 ½ inch notebook binder needed. USE FOR HISTORY ONLY! Most important part of my class! Most class assignments and all homework are in notebook Graded every 3-4 weeks Must bring it to class every day! History Notebooks

5 MLA (Last name, First name; Class; Period; & Date) Daily Objective (what you will learn or accomplish by the end of the period) Daily Agenda (what we are doing today) Homework (for the entire week) Important Dates (tests, school happenings) Whiteboards

6 Textbooks Keep your textbook at home You will use it for homework and projects Take care of it!

7 Parent Letter Give letter to parents. Have your parents read it. Have them sign it and return it to Mrs. Saucedo by Friday.

8 Procedures & Expectations

9 Student Absence & Attendance If your student is absent please call the attendance office or send a note with your student when he/she returns to school. If your student has a doctor’s appointment please have your student bring the doctors note to the attendance office. If your student leaves early for an appointment we need the doctor’s excuse or the absence will be considered unexcused.

10 Tardy Policy Students late to class miss out on important information and disrupt classroom learning. Miller has the following consequences for unexcused tardies: 1 tardy = warning 2 tardies = 1 detention 3 tardies = 2 detentions 4 tardies = Saturday School

11 Tardy Policy Classroom tardies will be taken care of by administration. Tardies are carried over to the new quarter.

12 Fill in the blanks of your family tree. Discuss your roots (ancestry) with your family. What’s My History? (Autobiography)

13 What’s My History? Autobiography Give your autobiography a title. For example… “Snapshots from the life of Kathy” or “All about James” (include picture if you want to)

14 Autobiography continued… About the Author - Include your: Name Place of birth Date of birth Parents & siblings Places lived or visited One favorite thing to do Anything else you want people to know about you

15 Autobiography You will write your autobiography in Google Docs. Upon completion, submit online (2 paragraph minimum, 10-16 sentences) Be sure to include 1 important event that has shaped you as a person. What’s My History?
