2 Passive to Active The decision to move forward with active social media was due, in part, to the success of the passive social media (widgets) added to pages. Centre for Continuing Education

3 From Strategy to Tactics CCE developed a Social Media Strategy –Integrate social media into campaign planning process –Educate CCE on using their own social media influence to share CCE content –Research other Continuing Ed. Social media presences

4 Centre for Continuing Education Tactics to Facebook The strategy then drove the development of the tactics –Starting with Facebook page –Adding Twitter feed in the future –Using LinkedIn through CCE employees profiles – no active presence

5 Centre for Continuing Education Tactical Plan The tactical plan provides the framework for creating and administrating the social media pages Provides guidance to all CCE employees, not just Web & New Media Specialist

6 Centre for Continuing Education Engaging URSMUG Soft launch to URSMUG – asking members to Like page in order to build some community and momentum

7 Centre for Continuing Education Engaging CCE Employees Critical to the success of the social media tactical plan is that CCE employees are actively engaged in the social media space, promoting and sharing content within their spheres of influence

8 Centre for Continuing Education Engaging U of R We hope to leverage the existing U of R social media sites to share content across pages that is relevant to similar markets
