Central Dogma: DNA to RNA to Protein
4
DNA is the code of life It is stored in the nucleus RNA transcribes the code and takes it out of the nucleus Transcription in the nucleus The cell translates the code to make proteins Translation happens at the ribosome These proteins then turn into traits – blue eyes, brown hair, big head
6
RNA DNA Single-Stranded Double-Stranded Uracil as a base Thymine as a base Ribose sugar Deoxyribose sugar In nucleus and In nucleus ribosomes
7
Proteins are responsible for nearly every job of cellular life cell shape inner organization, product manufacture waste cleanup, routine maintenance. Proteins also receive signals from outside the cell and mobilize intracellular response
8
Transcribe and translate from DNA to RNA to protein DNA ACC TTA RNA UGG AAU
