3 Timetables/Daily Routines Entrance doors –Year 5/6 cloakroom If late, report to the office. End of day – 10 minutes with teacher, then late book, DSP After school clubs – collect from office Lunchtime clubs

4 Break times Morning playtime is at 10.30-10.45. KS2 children can go to the studio to buy drinks and healthy snacks or toast. Children should not take food from lunchboxes at playtimes. Equipment is provided in all playgrounds for children to play with and the climbing frame/tyre park is on a rota basis. There is NO FOOTBALL allowed on school grounds.

5 Uniform Grey or black skirt/trousers White shirts/polo tops – school logo Burgundy sweatshirts/jumpers – school logo Black sensible shoes – no trainers Suitable winter coat – school fleece ALL NAMED PLEASE! No jewellery - only stud earrings (to be removed in PE) and watches are allowed. No nail varnish

6 P.E. Navy shorts or track suit bottoms for fields White t-shirt (with House colour edging) Lightweight pumps must be worn for indoor PE Trainers should be worn for fields No jewellery (particularly earrings!) or watches (can write disclaimer letter and take full responsibility) Long hair tied back PE days – 5W/5V on Wednesday -5C Thursday Field day – Tuesday

7 Swimming A selection of children on a Friday morning until Christmas. Starting 18 th September. One piece costume for girls Proper trunks (not baggy!) for boys Swimming caps for all children (long hair tied up) Towel Bag Goggles allowed! ALL NAMED

10 Reading All children to bring their Red Reading Diary and school reading books into the classroom every day. Two books: Reading Book (structured until a fluent reader) and Choice book All children have a Reading Diary in which to record reading – children can record their own reading, but we would appreciate parents signing the Red Reading Diaries to confirm that they have completed the book. Please do not put water bottles in book bags, they belong in classrooms!

11 Learning Beyond the Classroom: How can I help my child? Homework: We are in the process of organising the children an Abacus login. We may use this for Maths homework- we will keep you updated! –Mrs Vines’ set- Homework given on Fridays, returned on Thursdays. –Miss Wilcox’s set- Homework given on Fridays, returned on Thursdays. –Miss Cartwright set- Homework given on Fridays, returned on Thursdays. Spelling sentence homework is given out every Monday (starting 14 th September), please support your child in learning these weekly

12 Encouraging Independence Children to bring everything with them into the classroom at the start of day Musical instruments Money to be paid via Parent Pay Water bottle Lunch box in outside storage area (NOT in cloakroom) Reading book and diary Homework

13 Helping in School We welcome any parent helpers in year 5 Many parents come to help in school with: Reading Literacy Volunteers Sewing Baking If helpers are coming in regularly they would need to be DBS checked through the school.
