4 Curriculum and learning English Some English is “stand-alone” and some is taught within the units of inquiry, where there are valid connections:  Speaking and listening  Writing  Spelling and Handwriting  Reading

8 Specialist Lessons Mandarin –- (Mary Liu, Ganlo Williams) - 3 pathways - 45min daily sessions Library- (Rosheen Rodwell) 1x 45 min per week Music – (Jane Englemann) - 1 x 45min session per class +PYP SEN – (Ann Button-Smith + Helen Hattam) -Individual Needs  P.E. – ( Katie Bradstock) -2 x 45 min session per class

10 Homework Š Under review ( following is as last year) Š Maths (could be stand-alone or related to the UoI) Š English ( as above) Š Unit of Inquiry Š Reading for at least 15 mins every day Š Work given out on a Tuesday and handed in the following Monday, signed by the parent. Š Planet Peak

11 Reporting to parents Parent consultations – Wed, Sept 28 3:15-7:00 then Mon, Oct. 3 8:20-12:20 Learning Journey– TBC, b/w CNY and Easter Written reports- to be available online on Gateway- reports on first two UoI at end of Term 1, second two at end of Term 2 etc Written reports on “stand alone” English, Maths, Modern Chinese, Music, PSE and P.E.at end of Term 3.
