Clearly states the main idea of the paragraph. Underline in RED. Ex: The world needs more dreamers, without them barriers remain unbroken.

4 Step 2: Concrete Detail/Commentary- Bing
Concrete detail: Supports the main idea with a fact. Concrete Detail: Underline in Blue. Commentary: Writer’s opinion on the fact in relation to the main idea. Commentary: Underline in Green.

5 Bing: Concrete Detail: Commentary
Walt Disney, a true innovator opened Disney Land in 1955. Without his vision and drive towards excellence, millions of Disney dreams would remain unfulfilled.

6 Bang: Concrete Detail: Commentary
To strengthen this argument, Michael Jordan, a true dreamer was cut from his high school basketball team only to become one of the most decorated sports athletes in history. Michael Jordan, a model of strength and determination is a true dreamer and example of excellence.

7 BOOM: Concrete Detail: Commentary
Barack Obama, a man that envisions himself as the first African American man to dawn the U.S. Presidency. A true dreamer, this man believes in his heart that he can annihilate the discrimination barriers at the core of this nation.

8 Conclusion Sentence: Restate the main idea in a different light.
Paraphrase the main idea. Underline in RED. Dreamers defy the odds, they break social, economic and prejudicial barriers, we need more of them!
