2. Whether you are a new member or an old salt of our benevolent organization, I hope you always remember to look at our club with a fresh pair of eyes. I hope you will use the vast resources of our club to help those YOU think are in need. When you see or learn of someone in need, don't let that thought end as a good intention; rather, think of Kiwanis and ask yourself, "how can WE help?" Take for example, Corky Borders. After years of active service, Corky has put this principal into action by volunteering to chair our Community Service Committee. I'm sure he could use your help to execute his aggressive service calendar. In the month of October make a goal to come up with one small way you can further include Kiwanis in your life. Maybe even make a bigger goal to share the purpose of Kiwanis with three other people before the end of October. I successfully transitioned to civilian life, spending three years as Executive Director of the Beaches Chamber of Commerce followed by nearly 15 years as Executive Director of Fleet Landing, a Retirement Community serving 550 seniors located in Atlantic Beach.
