2 Presentation Vocabulary Slide- An individual screen in a presentation. Slide master - Used to make global changes to your slides, rather than editing each individual slide. Placeholder- B oxes telling you where to type or where to insert a piece of clip art on the slide.

3 Presentation Vocabulary Slide Show - A series of slides displayed in sequence. A slide show can be controlled manually or automatically. Outline view -Displays slide text in outline form easy to rearrange text on the slide. Slide Sorter -Displays multiple slides at one time (thumbnails) easy to move slides around by dragging.

4 Presentation Vocabulary Object - Any element that appears on a slide, such as clip art, text, drawings, charts, sounds, and video clips. Transition -A special effect used to introduce a slide during a slide show. For example, you can fade in from black, or dissolve from one slide to another.

5 Presentation Pointers Presentation Planning –Consider audience needs carefully. –Get organized. –Know your subject well. –Prepare visuals appropriate for available equipment and presentation location.

6 Presentation Pointers Message Development –Think about key points. –Use a presentation outliner or sketch a storyboard. –Keep one idea on a visual. –Add variety as needed.

7 Graphic Images Art might include photo images, clipart, motion clips, or original artwork scanned and converted to a digitized image.

8 Graphic Images Clipart can add humor or contribute to text message. Be creative, but use images in good taste. An image isn’t necessary on every chart or slide in the presentation.

9 Good Example Uses bullets to organize text Is presented attractively –Not too ‘busy’ –Same text throughout Use short points, not entire paragraphs

15 Mini-Assignment Create a presentation with 4 slides –First should be a title slide with the name of your presentation and your name. –Second should be a bulleted list of at least 3 items that you would have liked to have received for Christmas but didn’t. –Third, should be a clip art and bulleted list slide telling what you did get for Christmas and showing a picture of one of those items. –Last slide can be anything you want related to your Christmas break. Each slide should have a different colored background. Use a different font on each slide, but keep the same font for the entire slide. Insert a transition or animation on each slide.
