Published the North Star about abolition Served as an adviser to President Lincoln

Leading figure for women’s rights and abolition Gave the famous “Ain’t I a woman” speech

6 Harriet Tubman & The Underground Railroad

7 Suffrage Women faced limits:
Women could not vote Women could not own property Women were not supposed to speak in public Therefore the idea of women’s suffrage become very popular during the 19th Century Suffrage: The right to VOTE

8 Seneca Falls Convention
Formed a “Declaration of Sentiments” which was similar to the Declaration of Independence, only it was about women’s rights Called for voting rights (suffrage) and equal economic opportunities for women Failed, but started the movement

9 Elizabeth Cady Stanton
Women’s rights leader Helped organize the Seneca Falls Convention

10 Susan B. Anthony Supported suffrage, abolition, temperance,
and Equal Rights
